Senior Software Developer

We are seeking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to work on the core EigenD system. Eigenlabs is breaking new ground with our range of Eigeharps, and we are iteratively refining our system to meet new and changing needs. It is one of the most exciting areas of musical software development today, involving a mixture of digital sound generation, high data rate sensors, extremely configurable environments and completely new ways of performing music.

The successful candidate will possess good core skills in C++ and be happy in dealing with architectural issues in a challenging intellectual environment. Eigenlabs is a company committed to open source (with a planned release of EigenD under GPL later this year) as a principle. Being comfortable working with the wider software community is important.

You will need:

  • A thorough knowlege of C++ in a multithreaded evironment.
  • Experience with soft real time systems, such as audio/video or gaming systems.
  • Comfortable with multiplatform programming and deployment.
  • An Imagination, and the willingness to advocate and defend your ideas.
  • Basic Musical knowledge.

  • Device Driver development.
  • Hardware Development.
  • GUI Programming.
  • Installer Development.
  • VST/AU Development.
  • Python.

There will be a salary and benefits package to suit the experience of the candidate, including a pension contribution and private health cover. The position can be either based in the West Country of England with the opportunity to work from home for part of the week, or further afield with the requirement that you would need to be able to spend at least a day every two weeks at the Exeter office, and more time if needed. Depending on circumstances, help with relocation may be available.

Marketing Executive

Eigenlabs is looking to appoint an experienced Marketing Executive to implement its marketing strategy both domestically and overseas. A proactive team player with excellent copywriting skills, you will be able to manage a diverse work load. This is an exciting stage to come into the business since you will be building upon the initial work that the company has undertaken in launching a portfolio of brand new electronic musical instruments and software on the global stage. In particular the product launches of the Eigenharp Alpha, Tau and Pico at NAMM (January 2010) and Music Messe (March 2010).

You are to implement the marketing strategy on a day to day basis. You will be responsible for:

  • Artist liaison
  • Press liaison
  • Overseeing online content on social networking sites
  • Organising competitions including securing judges and drafting website copy
  • Overseeing video content - for website, shipped material and social media
  • Press page and press release updates
  • Liaising with retailers to organise launch events in their territories
  • Building and maintaining solid business relationships with press outlets and software companies

The Marketing Executive will work within a team of highly experienced and creative people.

Exeter based.
