Console Mixer Effect Channels are part of the Console Mixer Agent - please read the main article first before continuing.
The user has the option to create 'effect channels' in the Console Mixer, which can then act as an effect send/return bus within the Console Mixer Agent.
A Console Mixer Effect Channel has the following Ports:
left | audio | input |
The left audio input is normally used to receive left channel audio data from other channels.
right | audio | input |
The right audio input is normally used to receive right channel audio data from other channels.
volume |
The Volume port determines the effect channel's volume - a value of 100 is equivalent to 0dB.
pan |
The Pan determines the effect channel's position within the stereo field - 0 (default) is centre, -1 is hard left and 1 is hard right.
enable |
The Enable port turns the effect send on or off.
prefader |
The Prefader port determines whether the effect send is pre-fader or post-fader - when Prefader is on the mixer channel's volume does not affect how much audio is sent to the effect, when Prefader is off changing the mixer channel's volume will also change how much audio is sent to the effect.
send |
The Send port controls how much audio is sent from the mixer channel to the effect.
