I have a Pico, but I've made a holder for it so I can play it a bit more like a Tau (or a cello!), but the breathpipe isn't quite in the right place any more. Are the Tau/Alpha breathpipes "compatible" with the hole in the Pico?
Thanks,
Martin

Thanks John, I feared that might be the case. Sounds like the kit to make something is a bit beyond me too :)I have a Pico, but I've made a holder for it so I can play it a bit more like a Tau (or a cello!), but the breathpipe isn't quite in the right place any more. No, I'm afraid that the breath pipes for the Alpha, Tau and Pico are not compatible with each other. They use exactly the same underlying system but for a variety of annoying and sadly unavoidable engineering reasons the connectors all had to end up different.
It's actually quite difficult to make a breath pipe or I'd suggest you have a go, but you need to be able to inside coat the outer tube with he correct epoxy, which needs a vacuum chamber and precision oven to be done correctly, facilities not normally available to musicians.
