Is it possible to 'drag and drop' custom drum loops into the Drum Sequencer (like you can with SoundFonts for instruments)?

Got it sorted through Garageband eventually! Thanks for the help guys :)Is it possible to 'drag and drop' custom drum loops into the Drum Sequencer (like you can with SoundFonts for instruments)?

I think you should be able to add them in aif format to the /usr/pi/loop folder
Hmm - I've done that, and they're now appearing in the folder within the EigenBrowser under User Loops (by file), but when I click on them I don't hear anything :(
They're saved as .aif files and I've tried changing the extension to .aiff in case that worked, but no luck so far - any ideas?
Actually hang on ... do you need to get into Unix to do the copying? I'm no Terminal guru and am not familiar with the usr/pi/ directory nor how to get there!
They must be in the Apple loop format as it is stated in the FAQs, other loops (even if they are aiff) will not work.
You can produce your own Apple Loops using garageband very easy...
cheers.

No, you can get there using "Go To Folder..." in the Finder's "Go" menu. Haven't tried this myself, so I can't say why they might not play.
So if I use Soundtrack Loop utility to convert to Apple Loops that might do it?
yep... I´ve done the conversion with garageband myself (I´ve never used sountrack but according to what I read it should work) apple loops are normal aiff files with some extra information...
cheers.

There's also a separate Apple Loops Utility which ships with Logic, if you've got Soundtrack Pro I suppose you'll have that utility also. That should to the trick. Never used it myself though.
Check if you have saved them as 16bit or 24bit aiff files. I know for impulse files, they have to be 16 bit... Try saving to both formats, different names, and see if either will work. Good luck! x
