Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. It's always good to know where we stand. As it is I have a perfectly adequate solution to any recording-on-Windows situations I can think of, so I'll just stop waiting for the Sun to rise in the East and get on with life.

It's not Eigenlab's fault. Windows 7 multi-tracking without expensive audio hardware is just a bit of a pain sometimes, but then it's not exactly a mass-market requirement.

What I usually do is use Virtual Audio Cable instead of a real cable to connect from card to card and program to program, that usually solves all my problems. I use Asio4All as well of course. The only problem with it is that you'll have to use the right sampling frequencies and sampling buffers, because it can get out of sync (lots of crackling) quite fast if you don't. I sometimes have to restart the asio drivers or the virtual audio cable if I change settings, but once I've got the right settings, it works like a charm.

How did I not know about VAC?? Thanks! I'll need to d/l and test it, but it sounds like a much neater answer than my current kludge...

ZaPPZion, many many thanks.

No problem :)
The demo version tells you (literally) it's a demo version, at least the women inside my computer did so :)
Luckily it's not that expensive.

I cannot even run EigenD on Windows 7. I run it and it crashes, telling me it has to close. Totally clean install - installed it this morning - and it crashes every single time.

@karmacomposer
Use the EigenD 1.3.26-testing it's the best at the moment.
About the CPU you need a good one (I3 or greater - it works with core 2 but not so stable).

Hi, this is on topic (I think).

I am currently running Windows Seven x64, and I am also experiencing crashes, however it is due to my AU exceeding the 3 gig ram limit that I assume eigend allows,
(EigenD appears to be a 32bit app).

Am I correct in assuming all 32bit apps only allow up to 3 gigs of ram? Even if you have a 64bit OS installed?

Is there any chance of a 64bit version of the software so that I can make use of my desktops ram.

32 bit apps allow up to 4G of RAM. Beyond that requires a native 64 bit application. EigenD is currently 32 bit.. We are working on a port to 64 bit which will allow the use of more than 4G of RAM. This will be part of the 2.X series of EigenD.
