So, what is the safest method for disconnecting the Alpha from the computer? Is it safe to power down the base station while the laptop/computer is running? Is it best to unplug the Alpha from the base station before powering off the base station? Should one power down the base station before unplugging the Alpha from it?
I always eject any usb devices before disconnecting them from my laptop/computer.
I've never had any issues powering it off in any order, or even unplugging cables and plugging them back in - everything seems very resilient and doesn't really care which way you do it (totally the way it should be, too).
It's not a disk-style device that needs to be 'ejected' to give it time to write away any unwritten data or anything like that.
