General Discussion: lost key

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply and your help. The shutter still moves freely , it feels like a normal Harp key. I think just popping a key back in should work.

Your offer is awesome, very kind.

All the best and speak soon.

Hi ,

I have lost a key on my Pico . This is not listed as a spare part on the website, so I can't order one from there . I've tried phoning a couple of times and there seems to be no eigenharp email . Is there anyway I can get a replacement key ?

All the best

Kevin

Hi Kevin

Key's are not a user replaceable part on an Eigenharp, taking one apart and replacing the key assembly requires re-calibration which needs specialist software and a calibration jig. It's not something that you can do at home, which is why we do not sell key components as spare parts. Could you send us a picture of the damaged key? We may be able to assess the damage using that a little more accurately, otherwise your best bet is to send it back to us for assessment. We will have a look at it for you at no cost to you and give you an estimate for repair. You will need to cover the return shipping if you do not want it repaired and would like us to send it back to you.

You can always send email to the 'customerservices' address at eigenlabs.com, or use the contact form here: http://www.eigenlabs.com/supportcontact/

Hi Kevin

Looking at that picture it is just possible that you may be able to get away with just pushing a new keytop assembly into place. Does the shutter (the square thing in the middle with the hole in it) move freely? If it does and it does not feel like the springs are damaged then I'll see if I can dig out a spare keytop and you can try inserting it yourself, it should just pop into place.

I'm away for a week from later today, but ping me a reminder next Thursday and I'll go and see if we have any made up keytops handy, if so we'll send you one to try at no charge. You will want to make sure no dirt gets in through that hole, if I were you I would buy a can of air duster (like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Compressed-Performance-Playstation-electrical-equipment/dp/B00EQ8C82K/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1467894896&sr=8-5&keywords=air+duster) and give it a careful blow out before you try a new keytop as dirt in the optical system can make the key play badly.
