Hi Bruce,

Here are some answers to your questions:

* Can I record and edit the performance data as Host Automation data?

No, it's not possible to send Host Automation Data from an external application without going through MIDI. When EigenD hosts AUs and VSTs directly, it can send performance data as Host Automation directly to the plugin, but there's no standard to send it to a DAW.

* Does it go through MIDI before getting to Logic Automation?

Same answer as before, if you're using an external DAW, you'll have to go over MIDI.

* Why is there no AU Converter for the AU rigs?

The GUI window of each AU plugin has a top-level 'Configure' button that brings up the routing matrix, which has all the functionalities of the MIDI Convertor with additional Host Parameter mapping features.

* Any other tips for getting this sounding great and easy to use?

It depends if you really want to go through Logic for recording or not. You'll get the best response and expressiveness by hosting AUs directly into EigenD. It a good idea to get familiar with the AU/VST features explained here: http://www.eigenlabs.com/wiki/2.0/Configuring_AudioUnit_and_VST_plugins/. Also learning about all the features of the Routing Matrix will allow you to fine-tune how the Eigenharp behaves with the plugins: http://www.eigenlabs.com/wiki/2.0/Routing_Matrix/

Hope this helps,

Geert

Hi all

I've recently purchased NI Komplete 8, with the plan to use it (particularly Kontakt) for composing with Logic 9 and my Pico. I'm running into some difficulties getting it to work as well as I think it can...
