General Discussion: Drum/percussion AU/VSTs on MacOS

To use the VST, you need to authorize the app. iZotope will email you a registration code that you'll use to authorize. The email also contains a link to a download section. You need to download the iDrums app from the website as it contains the VST. Plus, while you're there be sure to download the acoustic drum kits. You don't need to download the other kits there as they were installed with the app store download.

It's a simple app tp use, but offers a lost of customization, i,e.: MIDI note assignment, import samples, etc.

One odd thing when using the VST plugin with EigenD: it's GUI does not automatically load. Maximize the GUI window and it will show up.

What drum/percussion AU/VSTs are you using with EigenD on MacOS? Specifically, I'd like to use this with the Arranger.

I tried MDrummer and while it has very good sound it kept crashing EigenD. So that one appears off the list.

Thanks in advance,

Randy

Battery is quite good - part of Komplete from NI.

Thanks, Mike. I'm primarily interested for standalone AU/VSTs.

You can buy it solo Click here: Battery

It is $200USD.

You would be hard pressed to do better from the control perspective

A drum plugin for consideration is iDrums from iZotope.

It comes in standalone and plugin version. It lists for $49.00 on their webpage, but if you purchase it through Apple's Online MacOS store, it's $19.

It comes with a lot of drums kits and, once you register, you can download a bunch more. There's over 200 drum kits in all.

You can play each piece of the drum kit separate via MIDI. The MIDI notes used to trigger a drum part is configurable.

One of the interesting things is you can also use it as a drum machine and have it play the drum part while you practice or perform.

Hope this is useful.

Are you looking for 808/909 style drums? Realistic-ish drum kits? Synthish? Do you want the ability to load your own samples?
I recenty got the app store version of iDrums but haven't had a chance to try it within EigenD. Will report back if you're still looking by then.
